Looking for people to play music with

Hi everyone

I'm a 30 year-old guitarist who's looking to play music with other people. I've played a couple of gigs for Auckland Guitar School and found performing is something I really enjoy. I'd love to join/form a band that plays gigs over the summer period. I see myself playing covers initially (especially pop/rock from the 70-90s depending on band and song), but I've also had a go at writing my own material and recording at home, which I'd like to bring to the stage long term.

My main musical interests are progressive rock and metal, but I've been broadening my horizons and enjoying music from other genres like popwave, indie, and funk (all the pop music I enjoy has funky elements to it). A few bands I've been listening to regularly in the last few years include Intervals, Plini, The Midnight, Ghost, and Periphery; while the backbone of pretty much everything I'm into has been influenced by any/all of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, or Linkin Park.
