FEMALE BACKING VOCALISTS WANTED

COSMIC GECKO is a 5-piece satirical band, consisting of keyboards, saxophone, acoustic guitar, drums and bass. Our repertoire is catchy, fast paced and energetic, with quirky/witty lyrics.

We are outside mainstream, with a slight 80’s feel to it and with some influences of Madness, Men at Work, Split Enz, etc. We are mostly in our 50’s -4M’s and 1F- and want a more female influence in contributing refreshing ideas. We also thrive to become a bit more theatrical.

We are realistic. An original band’s gig is like an art exhibition from an unknown painter. You could draw more people in by hanging up a Picasso in between. Or two, or three. Where do you stop? Is it still your exhibition and is the applause really yours? That’s why we keep it ‘clean’. No covers. 
We rehearse 1x/week in Eden Tce and gig on average once a month. We are well received, due to very danceable beats and -I dare to say it- pretty good musicians.

We are looking for 2 or 3 female backing vocalists, preferably with some life experience but we’d look at anyone’s own merits. We have all the gear needed so you don’t have to worry about mic’s, cables and stands. Required are extraverted qualities -or being able to play that-, being reliable and of course a good singing voice.
